From Small Steps to Big Skills on the Farm

When Mike first joined us, he began his training on the farm. Starting with simple, repetitive tasks helped him build confidence and routine. Step by step, Mike grew more skilled and independent.

Over time, he became a vital member of our animal care team—especially with the pigs. With some prompting, Mike is now able to muck out, feed, and give daily care to them. He’s even played a key role in looking after our piglets when new arrivals join the farm. His care and dedication shine through in everything he does.

Taking on New Opportunities in the Farm Shop

In 2015, when we opened our Farm Shop, Mike embraced a new challenge. Just as he did on the farm, he began with repetitive tasks that helped him learn at his own pace. Through patience, practice, and encouragement from our team, Mike steadily developed his skills.

Today, Mike can proudly make our quiches entirely from start to finish. Every week, the quiches on our shelves are baked by Mike’s own hands—a true achievement that speaks volumes about his dedication and growth.
