Tucked away in the woodland at West Moors FarmFest 2026, the Survival Village is where things slow down, fires are lit, and adventure takes over. This is a space built for families to explore, learn, and get properly stuck in—whether that’s building dens, cooking over flames, or heading into a Nerf battle with your team.

Firelighting & Marshmallow Toasting
Learn how to safely build and light a fire, then enjoy the reward—marshmallows toasted over open flames. Simple, but something people always remember.

Den Building
Work together to build your own woodland shelter using natural materials. It’s creative, physical, and gives that real sense of “we made this.”

Spearmaking
A chance to craft something with your hands and understand traditional skills in a safe, guided way.

Metal Detecting
Slow things down and search the ground beneath your feet—you never know what you might uncover.

Storytelling in the Woodland
Settle in and listen. This is about imagination, calm moments, and bringing people together in a different way.

For those that want a bit more action, this is where it kicks up a level. Team-based, fast-paced, and always one of the highlights of the day.

Why We Created It

The Survival Village reflects what we’re building at Gullivers—real experiences, connection to the land, and opportunities for everyone to get involved. It’s also a space where the adults we support are part of delivering and shaping the experience, which is a big part of what makes it special.
