Pumpkin Fest at Gullivers: More Than Just Pumpkins

An Autumn Tradition for Families, Community and Purpose

As autumn arrives across West Moors, the pumpkin patch at Gullivers begins to fill with colour, excitement and anticipation for one of our favourite seasons of the year.

This October, we're inviting families, friends and the wider community to enjoy everything that makes autumn special at Gullivers.

Whether you're looking for a simple pumpkin-picking experience during the week or a family day out packed with activities at the weekend, there's something for everyone this pumpkin season. The Pumpkin Fest and Pick Your Own Pumpkin activities were discussed as key autumn events within the Gullivers social media strategy.

Pick Your Own Pumpkins | Monday to Friday

If you love the simple joy of choosing the perfect pumpkin, our Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patch will be open Monday to Friday during Farm Shop opening hours from 9am to 4pm.

This is designed as a relaxed experience where visitors can:

  • Wander through the pumpkin patch.

  • Choose their own pumpkins.

  • Enjoy the beautiful autumn setting.

  • Visit the Farm Shop, Kitchen and Café.

  • Support a local charity and social enterprise.

It's the perfect option for families with younger children, grandparents, home educators, or anyone wanting a quieter pumpkin experience without the busier weekend activities.

Pumpkin Fest Weekends | A Full Family Day Out

On selected weekends throughout October, Pumpkin Fest transforms the farm into a celebration of autumn.

Alongside pumpkin picking, visitors can enjoy:

  • Family-friendly activities.

  • Seasonal games and attractions.

  • Food and drink.

  • Farm experiences.

  • Entertainment and autumn fun.

  • The unique atmosphere that makes Gullivers special.

Pumpkin Fest is designed as a much bigger event experience, bringing together everything people love about autumn on the farm. The strategy meeting identified Pumpkin Fest as a key family-focused seasonal campaign supported by wider farm, food and community content.

Helping Us Grow Opportunities

Every Pumpkin Fest visitor, every pumpkin purchased and every visit to Gullivers helps us continue growing opportunities for the people we support through Sturts Community Trust.

Unlike many commercial attractions, Gullivers is a social enterprise. Income generated through our events and businesses is reinvested into creating meaningful opportunities, training, support and employment pathways for people within our community.

When you visit, you're helping us create real opportunities for people to build confidence, develop skills and contribute to meaningful work.

Supporting Our Milk Pasteuriser Project

This year, Pumpkin Fest is also helping support one of our exciting future developments.

We are working towards raising funds for a milk pasteuriser, which would allow us to process milk produced here on the farm and create new vocational learning opportunities within our dairy enterprise.

This investment would help us:

  • Develop new training opportunities.

  • Create additional meaningful vocational roles.

  • Increase learning around food production and processing.

  • Add value to products produced at Gullivers.

  • Generate more income to reinvest back into the people we support.

Most importantly, it would create another pathway for people to learn practical skills, gain experience and be involved in producing genuine products with real value.

What Community Support Makes Possible

Every time someone visits Gullivers, they become part of a much bigger story.

Your support helps us:

  • Create meaningful vocational opportunities.

  • Develop new enterprise projects.

  • Invest in equipment and facilities.

  • Provide personalised support and training.

  • Grow sustainable income that directly benefits the people we support.

  • Continue developing Gullivers as a place where people can belong, contribute and thrive.

The people we support are involved across many areas of Gullivers, from farming and horticulture to retail, catering, creative enterprises and customer service. Our work is focused on recognising strengths, developing skills and creating opportunities for contribution and growth. This approach is reflected in the development of new enterprises such as Gullivers Botanicals and other vocational opportunities across the site.

Come and Be Part of the Story

This pumpkin season isn't just about pumpkins.

It's about families making memories, communities coming together and supporting a charity and social enterprise that believes everyone should have the opportunity to learn, contribute and flourish.

Whether you join us during the week for a peaceful pumpkin-picking visit or come along to one of our Pumpkin Fest weekends, you'll be helping build a stronger future for Gullivers and the people we support.

We look forward to welcoming you to the farm this autumn.
